# DIY Macramé Knotted Bracelet and Heart Bracelet with Sliding Closure

## Описание

Square Knot: Hold the middle cords straight. Bring the left cord over the middle cords and under the right. Pull the right cord through the number 4 created. Then, do the opposite. Make a backwards 4 with the right cord over the middle cords and under the left. Pull the left cord through the backwards 4 created.

Double Half Hitch Knot: For a left diagonal, keep the left cord straight and bring the right cord over it creating a backwards 4. Pull the right cord through the loop created and do this twice. For a right diagonal, keep the right cord straight and bring the left cord over it creating the number 4. Pull the left cord through the loop created and do this twice.

Macramé Knotted Bracelet:

Light Teal and Brown Embroidery Floss

Wooden Bead

Scissors

Ruler

Tape

You’ll need two of each color and each string is 72”.

I aligned the ends to find the center and made a braid that was about 3”.

I tied an overhand knot, making sure that the bead is able to pass through.

Undo the extra braid and tape the loop down.

I used 2 pieces of embroidery floss to act as 1 chord to make a thicker bracelet.

With the first color, make a square knot.

Next, make another square knot.

Then, with the second cord from the left, make a double half hitch knot going in the left direction.

With the second cord from the right, make a double half hitch knot going the right direction.

Repeat the steps until you have the length you want. I made mine 7 1/2”.

Since the hole in the bead was a bit wide, I braided the end before tying a knot, to make a thicker knot.

Add the bead and tie another knot.

Cut the extra chord and your macramé knotted bracelet is done.

Heart Bracelet with Sliding Closure:

Tan and Light Teal Embroidery Floss

Mod Podge

Scissors

Ruler

Tape

I cut 4 pieces of each color at 42”.

I made an overhand knot 4” from the end and taped it down.

I spread out my chords in this order. (A B A B B A B A)

You’ll use the same knot throughout the bracelet which is a double half hitch knot. It’ll either be going in the right direction or left direction. If you get confused in which direction the string is going, remember that the number 4 has a right angle and goes in the right direction. The backwards 4 has a left angle and goes in the left direction.

For the first row, take the left chord and make a double half hitch knot going in the right direction. Do this to 3 chords until you reach the center. Next, take the right chord and make a double half hitch knot going in the left direction. Do this to 3 chords until you reach the center. With the 2 middle chords, make a double half hitch knot. I made mine going in the right direction. It can be in either direction as long as it’s consistent.

For the second row, take the second cord from the left and make a double half hitch knot going in the left direction. Then, take the second cord from the right and make a double half hitch knot going in the right direction. Take the current second string from the left and make a double half hitch knot going in the right direction. Do this to 2 chords until you reach the center. Then, take the current second string from the right and make a double half hitch knot going in the left direction. Do this to 2 chords until you reach the center. With the 2 middle chords, make a double half hitch knot.

For the third row, repeat what you did for the second row. (Take the second cord from the left and make a double half hitch knot going in the left direction. Then take the second cord from the right and make a double half hitch knot going in the right direction. Take the current cord string from the left and make a double half hitch knot going in the right direction. Do this to 2 chords until you reach the center. Then, take the current second cord from the right and make a double half hitch knot going in the left direction. Do this to 2 chords until you reach the center. With the 2 middle chords, make a double half hitch knot.)

For the fourth row, repeat what you did for the first row. (Take the left chord make a double half hitch knot going in the right direction and do this to 3 chords until you reach the center. Then, take the right chord make a double half hitch knot going in the left direction. Do this to 3 chords until you reach the center. With the 2 middle chords, make a double half hitch knot.)

Repeat the 4 rows until you reach the length you want. I made mine 7 1/2”.

Tie an overhand knot and leave 4” at the end. I braided the ends and tied a knot at 2”.

Then, cut the extra chord. I used one for the extra chords for my sliding closure.

Have the 2 ends of the bracelet going in the opposite direction an tape it down.

Place the center of the chord under the 2 ends of the bracelet and make a few square knots.

Add a dot of glue to the ends so that it doesn’t unravel. I used mod podge.

Cut the extra string and your heart bracelet with a square knot sliding closure is done.
